Last night Brian and I tried a new Mexican restaurant called Las Delicias on Park Ave. We had heard it was fresh, authentic Mexican food, so we had to try it!
We started off with their guacamole dip. It had big chunks of avocado in it and was mmm-mmm good! Then, I ordered the chicken tacos, and Brian got the steak fajitas. My all-time favorite chicken tacos are from Deli Mexicana in Germantown, so these had a lot to live up to. Sadly, they weren't great- the chicken was dry and there wasn't a lot of flavor. Brian's fajitas, on the other hand, were very good. The fajitas would definitely be what I would get next time we go.
Currently my favorite Mexican restaurants are ranked this way:
1) Deli Mexicana- Germantown
2) Molly's La Casita- Memphis
3) El Patron- Bartlett
4) Abuelo's- Cordova
5) El Porton- Cordova

This Week in Pictures
I got the idea for this blog post from Valerie's blog here.

1. We knew that I was going to work on my birthday (Monday), so Saturday Brian took me to dinner at the Melting Pot. The 4-course meal was delicious, but we definitely felt like whales when we got done because we ate so much!
2. Brian gave me my presents early (which he rarely does)! He got me the rain boots I had been wanting and a Coach wallet. Such a sweetie!
3. Monday was my 26th birthday! I can't believe I'm on my second leg of the 20's!
4. I worked on my birthday, and it was SUPER busy at the pharmacy. My sweet co-workers bought me a birthday cake, and thankfully, work slowed down enough for us to enjoy it.
5-8. My family took me out for my birthday on Tuesday night. It was our first time eating at Cafe 1912 on Cooper. It was really good! We had fun sharing and trying each others meals. Afterwards, we went back to my parents' house and opened presents! I'm displaying one of them in picture #8 (The Malgrave Incident for the Wii).
9. American Idol is back on, and I've had fun watching the auditions (which are definitely my favorite part of the whole show!)
10. Since Apple is recalling their 1st generation Nano iPods, I am sending back my first generation nano. I got the package in the mail this week to send it back, and I've heard they send you a current version of the Nano in its place! Excited!
