December, January, and February have been the most physically and mentally draining months in recent memory.
Starting in December, Brian and I decided to put our house up for sale. If you've never experienced this before, let me tell you it is some WORK! From the meticulous cleaning and getting rid of "junk" you should have thrown away ages ago, to fixing every little thing "wrong" with your house, to keeping it clean 24/7 because you never know when you will get a call requesting a showing of your home, it is a very trying time. Then you have to wait and wonder, when will my house sell? Then, the JOY of an offer, only to agonize over negotiations and counting every single penny you will gain/lose on your house. Can I add that this was all during Christmas and the madness of Christmas shopping?? Exactly.
Luckily, we had an incredible realtor, and we only had to wait and wonder for 2 weeks before "the" offer came in! So your emotions go from pure happiness to "where are we going to live?" Then the search for a new home truly begins. We found our new home early on, but negotiations and repairs took a little longer than expected. That's when we moved in to our in-laws for two weeks. Thank the good Lord for family like that, because that took a lot of pressure off of us. We were able to relax, eat some delicious home-cooked meals courtesy of Brian's mom, and have a wonderful place to stay.
Closing on our new home finally came in the beginning of February, and then moving in happens. It is already the end of February and there are still boxes that haven't been emptied. Only about 5-6 of them, though, so we are getting closer.
And I painted that picture of my stressful time just so you can understand how ecstatic I am to announce that we will be spending some hard-earned time at the happiest place on earth . . .
I couldn't be more ready for a break! Don't be too jealous that we are going 2 years in a row! ;o) Last year it was just Brian and I. This year it will be the whole family! I am counting down the days!
